IUPAP 24th General Assembly, Berlin, Germany, 7-12 October 2002 – Announcement

The 24th General Assembly of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) and related sessions will be held downtown in Berlin, Germany. The meetings will take place at the Magnus Haus and at the Humboldt-Universitaet, both sites are in the centre of the town and in a walking distance from one another.

The IUPAP General Assembly 2002 is hold under the auspices of IUPAP and is organized by the German Physical Society.

Date: 7 (Mon) – 12 (Sat) October 2002
Site: 7 – 8 October: Magnus-Haus; 9 – 12 October : Humboldt-Universität Berlin

The theme of the academic session will be “Physics Research Funding in Germany”.

Excursion 1 will lead to a site of scientific interest, excursion 2 will be a guided tour to Potsdam.

Participants:
Council and Commission Chair’s meeting (7-8 October) preparing the General Assembly: about 30 participants.

General Assembly (9-12 October): about 120 participants (Council and Chairs, delegates and observers from member societies in almost 50 countries around the world).
