The Working Group for New IUPAP Standing Committees under Commissions was established to explore the potential creation of new Standing Committees dedicated to facilities and infrastructures of relevance to the international physics community that are not currently covered by IUPAP’s existing Standing Committees under Commissions.

Mission/Mandate

The Working Group aims to:

  • Identify facilities and infrastructures of interest to the physics community that are not currently covered by IUPAP’s existing Standing Committees under Commissions, such as those related to fusion;
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders and assess the feasibility of creating new Standing Committees under Commissions to include some of these facilities and infrastructures;
  • Submit proposals for the creation of new Standing Committees under Commissions in areas considered relevant to the physics community, including a draft composition for each proposed Standing Committee.
