The 30th General Assembly of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics, having been postponed with the consent of IUPAP’s members from October 2020 to October 2021, started on 20th October 2021 at 1000 UTC and continued until 22nd October 2021 at 1300 UTC.

Because of the travel restrictions imposed by the pandemic, the meeting was hosted in Geneva, Switzerland, where the new General Secretariat for Legal and Financial Affairs has been established, and members joined via the internet.  The papers for the Assembly were available here.

This was a very important meeting for IUPAP. As well as its usual business, the 30th GA approved the transformation of the Union into a legal entity under Swiss law for which a new set of Articles and Internal Regulations was adopted.  The new strategic and action plan of the Union was approved as well. These very important decisions will shape the actions of our Union into its second century of existence.
