The 32nd IUPAP General Assembly of Liaison Chairs and Commission Chairs was held on October 9 from 1pm to 6pm Geneva time (CEST, GMT+2). Executive Council members, Working Group chairs and invitees were invited to attend as observers.

The 2023 IUPAP Executive Council and Commission chairs meeting was held immediately before, on October 4- 6 from 2pm to 5pm Geneva time (CEST, GMT+2).
The General Assembly started with a ceremony in memory of Kennedy Reed, President of IUPAP from 2017 to 2019 who passed away in June this year. A very moving text written by Past President Bruce McKellar was read.
The events coincided with the 100th anniversary of the first IUPAP General Assembly: in fact, the first IUPAP General Assembly was held in Paris in December 1923.
